TRG-ASTON MARTIN RACING TAKES THREE CAR TEAM TO THE STREET FIGHT OF ST. PETERSBURG

This weekend, the TRG-Aston Martin Racing will return to St. Petersburg for the second round of the Pirelli World Challenge competition. Rolling out in force, the team will bring along three Aston Martin race cars to compete in four races over the course of three days.
“We had a great run at COTA earlier this month, in both races I improved on my starting position and brought the car home in one piece,” said Team Driver Dereck DeBoer. “I’m looking to build on that solid performance heading into this weekend, focusing on running clean and going for the podium.”

TRG-AMR will be fighting for the win in both the GTA and GTS categories. The team arrived in St. Petersburg fresh from the Circuit of the Americas Pirelli World Challenge season opener, which saw Team Driver, Christina Nielsen finish P3 in GTA and Team Driver, Kris Wilson take home the win in the GTS field. While this is the first time on this unforgiving street course for all three of our drivers, they’re all confident that they are more than capable of handling the tricky 1.8 mile 14-turn street circuit.

“I am glad to be running in Pirelli World Challenge again, after our win at COTA, especially,” said Wilson. “This is such a great team to run with, I can never get over how they have every single little thing covered. The V8 Vantage GT4 is also a really strong platform, which makes it a little easier to look so good out there!”

Another Rock Solid Sebring Performance by TRG-AMR

Nothing in endurance racing comes easy, and the 2015 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring was no exception for TRG-AMR. After qualifying fifth quickest in the 007 Royal Purple/Orion Energy Systems/LaSalle Solutions/PassTime V12 Vantage GT3, the team survived a grueling 12 hours and some intense racing en route to a hard fought second place finish.

Once the dust settled, the team, comprised of Danish sensation Christina Nielsen, Australian James Davison and Californian Brandon Davis, commended each other on a day well spent. All three did their part and raced incredibly well. TRG-AMR’s entry had a very competitive 12 hours, leading several times throughout the event.

“The 12 Hours of Sebring is one of the toughest races and layouts in America,” said TRG owner Kevin Buckler. “The closing laps were about as unpredictable as racing gets, and James did a great job keeping us in contention for a victory. Christina’s drive was one for the ages… I mean truly an amazing performance running with some of the top professional GT drivers and keeping us up front and on the lead lap.”

TRG-AMR was pleased to come out of the event earning top honors in the 2nd round of the North American Endurance Championship.  They earned points based on running position at the four hour mark, eight hour mark, and of course when taking the checkered flag.
“We ran as perfect a race as we could,” said Davidson. “It was a very good result and it was a long time coming. We’ve always had solid equipment (five straight poles prior to Sebring) but did not have luck on our side. This was a great team effort.”
