Aston Martin’s Powerful New Performer: The V12 Vantage S
When Aston Martin rocked the world with the introduction of the V12
Vantage S, many enthusiasts wondered how the car would fit into the company’s
line up. With just a 3.7 second to sprint from 0-60 mph and a top speed of 205
mph, Aston Martin’s most extreme sports car, the new V12 Vantage S, is the
fastest accelerating production car in the company’s line-up.
The
V12 Vantage was an unprecedented engineering achievement and one of the
company’s most revered cars, said Sonny Morgan,
dealer principal at Aston Martin of Austin. “Combining a V12 engine with their
lightest sports-car created a package of pure aggression. Many were disappointed when the car ceased
production. But Aston didn’t stop there. The built an even lighter chassis,
then added an even more powerful engine with an even more responsive
transmission. V12 Vantage S is the most ferocious Aston Martin ever produced.”
The Vantage S proves its position as the brand’s fastest
accelerating production car, as well as the most potent Vantage in Aston
Martin’s glittering century-long history. Equipped with the innovative 565 HP
6.0 liter V12 engine, featuring the latest in engine management technology, the
car is capable of reaching a top speed of 205 mph.
“The new V12 Vantage S brings our winning GT3 race
formula to the road,” said Aston Martin CEO Dr Ulrich Bez. “It’s a car for
those customers who want superior sporting performance in a ‘gentleman’s suit’.
It’s the most pure, yet understated, driving machine we can imagine today.”
With 460 ft. lbs. of torque available at 5,750 rpm,
the V12 Vantage S is as flexible as it is powerful. All that muscle is supplied
to the rear wheels through the new Sportshift III Automatic Manual Transmission
to ensure the car boasts true sporting driveability.
The Vantage S is equipped with technology that allows
drivers to accurately tune its ride and handling. Three-stage adaptive damping
allows the driver to precisely tailor the car’s dynamic character and exploit
its clear performance potential. ‘Normal’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Track’ modes provide a
broad swathe of dynamic capabilities, while the system also governs the level
of power steering assistance offered.
"We’re pleased to offer Aston Martin’s new blisteringly
fast flagship model, alongside the ultimate grand touring Vanquish Volante in Central Texas,” noted Morgan. “Since we continue to be one of the most
successful Aston Martin dealerships the U.S, two of these beautiful new cars are
already available to our customers.”
